Discover the heart of your peaceful warrior in a weekend of vinyasa flow classes and workshops designed to unlock your potential on and off the mat. Expect vigorous classes from senior teachers, demonstrations from advanced yogis, wisdom talks, and instruction in pranayama and meditation along with delicious vegetarian fare, and ample time to unwind at night by the fireside with your fellow warriors.
Throughout the weekend you’ll have the opportunity to study and practice with a host of exceptional yogis known for their vinyasa style, offering a range of classes from introductory to advanced. The weekend includes guided asana sequences, inspiring music, pranayama (guided breath work), mudras (hand gestures to guide energy), and meditation. For those aches and pains, individual bodywork and massage sessions can be booked with resident massage therapists.
Vinyasa Defined
Vinyasa translates from Sanskrit as connection, and refers to the powerful link between breath and movement in the practice for a continuous flow, often considered a moving meditation. Sun salutations maintain heat throughout the practice and open the body to an expanded range of motion, while synchronized breathing focuses the mind and helps energy flow throughout the body.
Good for Beginners?
Absolutely! If you wish to learn the powerful connection between breath and flowing movement through poses, a vinyasa or “flow” class is a great place to start. For experienced yogis, the weekend is a wonderful opportunity to join advanced colleagues and continue challenging yourself.
What to bring for practice
Please bring your own yoga mat, a yoga blanket (for elevating hips in seated poses, or to cover you in savasana), a towel, and a water bottle to stay hydrated. Bring a strap and two blocks if you have them. Some supplemental mats or props may be available.
What to wear for practice
Vinyasa yoga involves a lot of movement, so wear comfortable clothing that allows you to flow from one pose to another. You will sweat, so wear breathable and moisture-wicking clothes. Temperatures range from early morning to evening, so dress in layers.
